Regional Park Master Planning

The County of Lancaster Parks and Recreation Department is working to develop a new Regional Park, just 10 minutes from downtown Lancaster, and is engaging the community in the planning process. Together, the county and community are creating a plan that will guide the development of the recreation programming priorities for this new park facility.

As part of the planning process, Lancaster Parks and Recreation staff and project consultants hosted two (2) drop-in Community Workshops, one at Walnut Creek Park on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 and another at Springdale Recreation Complex on Thursday, May 5, 2022.
All residents and stakeholders were invited to participate in the drop-ins. County and consultant staff met with residents and answered questions about the master planning process.

A survey, designed to produce feedback on types of outdoor and indoor amenity and facility choices and program ideas, was compeleted over a course of three months by members of the community.

The County has partnered with Woolpert's Charlotte office, specializing in park planning and design, to prepare concepts, master plan and construction documents for this property. For questions or additional information, please email parksandrecreation@lancastersc.net.
