County debuts website, survey for new Comprehensive Plan
Lancaster County is debuting a website for it’s new Comprehensive Plan: Lancaster 2040.
The Comprehensive Plan will serve as a guide to the development of our future. It will closely examine growth management; transportation; loss of agricultural and rural lands; natural resources extraction; stormwater management; recreation, open space, environmental stewardship, and sustainability; economic development; and community beautification.
Consultants will work with County Staff and a Steering Committee of 12 people. The Steering Committee and County Staff will meet regularly to review findings, determine the best way to reach the public, and to draft the Plan.
The Planning Areas are broken down into geographic regions of the county: The Panhandle, Greater Lancaster, Southern Lancaster. Each planning area will have a separate focus group and one member from each focus group will participate on the County's Steering Committee.
A community survey is open to the public now through April 11. To view the survey, visit www.Lancaster2040.com/survey.
